Getting Ready for Emery

Last week I was honored to attend my friend Andrea’s baby shower luncheon, at The Veranda, in downtown Fort Myers. It was a spectacular event, with gorgeous pink tulips, Bennett’s doughnuts ( and Norman Love Chocolates ( Seriously, the doughnuts were to die for; simply, heaven on earth. Let’s just say the diet I had been doing so well with totally hit the brick wall once I took a bite. Not only did I take a bite, but I ate TWO whole doughnuts. However, they were most definitely worth every ounce I gained from eating them. Bennett’s is located in downtown Fort Myers and from what I hear, the little coffee shop is definitely a must visit. I plan on taking my family there to pick up some coffee and donuts followed by a stop at Centennial Park…where I will chase my kids until the sun goes down, just so I can maybe eat THREE next time.

Okay, enough about me. Andrea looked so adorable, as always!! She’s the Martha Stewart from our group of friends and we are just so excited she moved here last year!! Baby Emery got so many great gifts for her big debut in May. Some of the cutest baby things I have ever seen and it *almost* makes me want to have another baby just so I can buy all of the new, fun stuff they have out there these days.

Of course, the food at The Veranda was fab. I just love the charming little restaurant and cannot wait to go back and eat outside on the brick porch on a beautiful spring day!! We also got to choose from an assortment of Norman Love Chocolates. I have been eating Norman’s “treats” since I was a kid, since I used to babysit for their kids (and my brother was friends with their son) and I can tell you, he has only gotten better at what he does. As usual, they were as good to eat as they were to look at!! We also were treated to the most beautiful Norman Love cake I have probably ever seen. It was AMAZING.

Andrea, your shower was just as special as you are. I am so thankful for your friendship and I cannot wait to meet your sweet baby girl!!
