Wyndemere Country Club Wedding, Naples, Florida // Tessa + Nino

Congratulations to Tessa + Nino who were married a few weeks ago at the wonderful Wyndemere Country Club in Naples, Florida! It was such an honor to capture their beautiful day!

The Today Show!!!

This past weekend we were so, so thrilled to get word the Today Show had published one of our recent weddings that took place at the Edison Ford Winter Estates! Talk about jaw dropping when I typed in, and right there under Matt Lauer’s face (well, you get the idea) is a photo of Morgan and Dominic featuring their Real Wedding!

Just a little sidenote…my sister and I are HUGE fans. In fact, it’s not uncommon for our morning texting to consist of “watch at 7:12”, or “did you see________”. If we were in NYC (hopefully one day), we would absolutely be the crazy people up in the middle of the night to get our spot on the plaza, of course, signs in hand. Sometimes, I think it may have a little bit to do with the fact that Matt Lauer reminds both of us of our dad.

Anyway, thank you so much to the Today Show for selecting this wedding. Also, huge thanks to Hope Artistry, Tori Weatherford, the Derek Trenholm Band and Fort Myers Floral Artistry for everything they did to make my job easy.

Go read the article HERE. I promise, it’s an incredible love story and a must read!!!

edison ford winter estates wedding: dominic + morgan

There aren’t enough adjectives to describe my love for Morgan + Dominic’s vintage inspired wedding at The Edison Ford Winter Estates. First meeting when Morgan was 9 years old and reconnecting 13 years later, this love story has the sweetest start to this most perfect day.

Stunning flowers created by Fort Myers Floral Design.

The first look. Love this special and intimate moment..

The Coral Tree Morgan and Dominic had planted on the grounds of the estate.

Totally ADORE this table numbers!!!

Each table had to sing a song selected by Morgan and Dominic before they could go to the buffet for dinner. Absolutely hilarious and a wedding first for us- and probably most guests!

Special thanks to The Derek Trenholm Band for a great night of music at the cocktail hour and reception.

Congratulations Morgan + Dominic! I was so blessed to work with you guys and shoot your insanely gorgeous and most perfect day. I hope your constant laughter and the beautiful love continues to blossom through the years!

verandah country club wedding: ashleydawn + brandon

Blessed, blessed, blessed. I don’t know if there are more perfect words to describe my time, the friendship that has been built and the absolutely blessing it has been to work and capture the relationship and marriage of Ashleydawn and Brandon. Truly, a special couple.

Three years of sitting in church and building a friendship with a sweet, older couple, is exactly how God began this love story with Brandon and Ashleydawn. Every Sunday, Ashleydawn would spend time chatting with Joanne and Alan, and through the years this bond grew stronger, especially as they watched her relationship with Jesus blossom.

I still remember the first time I met with Ashleydawn. Besides their love story being really amazing, I loved her heart. Ashleydawn was in a spot where she was wholeheartedly seeking the Lord…and nothing else. She wasn’t looking for a boyfriend, a husband, she was truly just searching for God’s will and plan in her life.

On March 25th,2012 after going to the alter and giving every dream to God completely and entirely, Ashleydawn went back to her seat. Joanne sweetly grabbed her hand and proceeded to ask her a few questions…”How old are you?”  “And you’re not married?” “Do you have a boyfriend?”

Joanne then looks at her husband Alan and says “Are you thinking what I’m thinking?!”

Joanne then goes on to talk about her grandson, Brandon, who was a missionary for 7 years and how he has a heart completely for Christ. She asked Ashleydawn for her information and if she had “the facebook”. Giving it to her honestly just to be nice, and surely not thinking anything would EVER happen or come from it. However, a week later, to her surprise, Ashleydawn get an email from a gentleman, who lived in Ohio, asking me for the opportunity to get to know me…

Meet Brandon. Joanne and Alan’s grandson.

After a little more than a year of dating, this love story began a new chapter on May 18th, 2013, as these two became one.

Brandon and Ashleydawn waiting until their wedding day for their first kiss. Such a special moment!

Ashleydawn, you are amazingly beautiful inside and out.

Congratulations Ashelydawn and Brandon!! God is so good and his faithfulness in your lives is truly beautiful.  I have been beyond blessed to get to know you guys over the past few months and capture your incredible love!

marissa + tony: the club at the strand wedding

Both homeschooled growing up, Tony and Marissa, ended up in the same online academy. Meeting online for the first time in October of 2009, they instantly hit it off but there was quite the distance between the two. Tony lived in Michigan and Marissa lived in Florida. After spending countless hours getting to know one another and eight months after meeting online, Tony somehow convinced his family to take a vacation down to Naples. On June 17th, 2010 Tony and Marissa met in person for the very first time.

Marissa’s stunning hair and makeup (as always) by Salon Tease & Faces by Frohmberg.

Marissa’s stunning gown is from Loretta Bridal Boutique and is designed and made by Sottero & Midgley.

Truly some of the most gorgeous flowers I’ve ever shot…Botanicals on the Gulf, you never fail to amaze me. Ahhh, these were incredible.

2013-06-05_0026.jpgAfter spending most nights on Skype growing their relationship, Tony moved down to Florida to live by Marissa in May 2011.

2013-06-05_0028.jpg…and a year and a half later, in November 2012, they got engaged! Love, love, love these programs from Natalie Fink with Fink Ink Designs.

One of my absolute favorite churches in Naples Florida, First Congregational Church of Naples.

After the ceremony, we headed over to The Club at the Strand. Goodness, such a pretty and charming property!! Heavenly for any photographer…

the club at renaissance: rachel + jon wedding

One thing is certain when living in Florida…hurricanes. With hurricanes come cancelled school, work, and a frantic rush to buy the batteries, water, flashlights and other needed necessities. And then we wait. Back in 2006, starts the love story of Rachel and Jon, thanks to Hurricane Ernesto. With their college classes cancelled, they ended up meeting at a Hurricane Party (for those non-Floridians, this is common because the waiting game can get quite long and tedious!). The Hurricane never came to be (at least in our area) but Rachel and Jon instantly hit it off and went on their first date a few days later.

After 7 years of dating, this couple became husband and wife at the beautiful Club at Renaissance.

Congratulations Rachel and Jon!! Your day was so wonderful and we had a blast working with you guys and capturing every l!

dayna + michael: the palm cottage, naples florida wedding

every little ounce of this day was perfection. from dayna’s stunning dress, her pearl flats, the unbelievable cottage venue, her amazing flowers, and a crazy photogenic bride and groom….ahhh, i was in photographer heaven! dayna did such a great job selecting every aspect of the day to fit them. simply put, everything worked and the classic, timeless, yet vintage style could not have been pulled off any better.

oh, and to top it all off…{proud sister moment…} my sister was the coordinator of the wedding! congratulations michael and dayna. it was truly a fabulous day and it was such an honor to be a part!

Naples Yacht Club Nautical Wedding: Steph + Jake

Oh my goodness, be still my heart. One of the things I love most (outside of my couples) is that each wedding is truly unique and different, from colors, decor, style, location, etc. Every wedding is pretty much like walking out Christmas morning- seeing everything I’ve heard about come to fruition and the excitement of finally seeing all the details (my fave!) first hand. Steph and Jake’s wedding was absolutely no exception to this. I about died when I walked into the room and saw the beautiful tables, flowers, detail…the list goes on and one. Seriously, Courtney at Fabulously Chic did an AMAZINGGG job- not only is she a great planner and coordinator but she has such great taste to top it all off.

Steph and Jake, congratulations!! It was a great honor to shoot your wedding and cover every moment of your beautiful day!

Steph and Jake’s mom witnessed their first look…
Totally love first looks and the emotion, candid moments that come with!

kensington country club wedding: elizabeth + chris

I think one of the things I treasure and love most about my job is that I get to meet, work and build relationships with so many different people. I get to hear their stories, how they met, how they got engaged and then the vision they have for their wedding.
A few weeks ago, I got to shoot chris and liz’s wedding at Kensington Country Club, in Naples, Florida. I cannot even begin to tell you how wonderful it’s been working with these two, from the beginning stages of engagement up to the very day of their wedding. Liz and Chris, thanks for trusting me to tell your story through photographs. It was a true honor and such a blessing to work with you guys over the past year!

Valerie + Joe: Hotel Albuquerque, New Mexico Wedding

It truly is hard to believe that I met Valerie and Joe a year ago because I feel like I’ve known them forever. You know, the people you meet and they instantly make you feel like you’re their friend?  They’re both those types of people- warm, loving, caring and so unbelievably selfless. You may recall the engagement session HERE

Truthfully, I wanted to start this blog post with “Once upon a time…”, and well, considering we’re going back to the days when MySpace was the all the rage, I feel like it kind of suits the story well. ; ) The first time Joe laid eyes on Valerie, via her MySpace profile, he quickly knew (and confided in his friend) that he was going to marry her someday. Bored one night, Joe was skimming over his cousin’s MySpace friends, when he stumbled upon Valerie’s profile. A simple message from one side of the country to the other in November 2006, led to instant messages and hours and hours on the phone over the next few weeks.  In fact, Joe ended up canceling his plans to go on a cruise with his buddies, to fly from Rhode Island to New Mexico over New Year’s Eve so he could finally meet this woman he had gotten to know so well. Little did they know, both of their lives were about to change forever.

Almost six years later, many of which were long distance, a joint move to Florida, a surprise proposal at Disney World and overcoming unbelievable odds, Joe and Valerie began the next chapter in their love story. Best friends, now husband and wife, they truly had a fairy tale day as they said “I do”, with a destination wedding, in the city where they first met- Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Oh, Valerie and Joe…words can’t thank you enough for taking us out to New Mexico to shoot your amazingly beautiful day. Thank you, thank you, thank you. What a true pleasure it was to work with the two of you and we so enjoyed hanging out with you guys (as well as the bridal party!!) over the long weekend. Both of you were always so kind to make us feel like we were more than your wedding photographers, but also your friends. Congratulations Joe an Valerie- it was a true honor to be a part of your day and we are so excited to watch the chapters in your love story grow over your lifetime together!

Professional Prints vs. The Retail 60-Minute Lab

Last week out of urgency to have an image printed, I decided to do a quick upload through a local retailers’ one hour lab. As a photographer, this was the only one hour retail lab I said I would ever use, when in dire need. I didn’t even bother to check the 4×6’s and 5×7’s before leaving but when I got home and opened the envelope, my jaw literally hit the floor. My children looked like grey ghosts.

I’ve seen other photogs comparison pictures of “why never to order through walmart, etc.,” but when I saw first hand how distorted the coloring of a photo can be, it became so much more “real”. I immediately went to my professional lab to order the exact same images for comparison. How excited I was when FedEx knocked on my door this morning to drop off these pictures. It doesn’t take an expert, photographer, or genius to figure out how poor of quality and lack of detail the retail print is in comparison to the professional print.

Now granted, I just snapped side by side pictures of the photographs for quick comparison, but I’m excited to have these in my office so people can see first hand the difference in quality- paper and all. Happy Wednesday!!

{ Little Sidenote: I totally understand the desire to want to order your prints (whether they’re one you’ve taken or images provided by your photographer) without going through a professional company. One of my favorite online retail companies is, and they come highly recommended. Plus, they’re quick and really don’t cost any more than a local one hour retailer! }

It’s Always a Good Day…

when FedEx knocks at my door and brings me some goodies! Since we’re getting ready for the big Bridal Blast, this August 21st at Germain Arena, we have been designing, album making and working up a storm. Today, this wonderful 8×8 album, from Tara and Brandon’s engagement session this past weekend, arrived at my door and I couldn’t be more excited!

Oh, how I love me some thick, lustre coated pages…
Oh, and hopefully you didn’t notice my wrinkled duvet, that is most definitely needing a date with my hot iron. I told you things have been busy around here, but for now I’m going to just write it off as a great textured background. 🙂  Look for more fabulousness that came from this session on tomorrow’s blog post. Happy Wednesday!

Style Me Pretty.

When I started my business a few years ago I had a short list of goals and desires for where I wanted to go and what I wanted to see happen. First and foremost, I wanted God to be glorified and I wanted myself and my business to always be centered around Him. I never wanted this to be about me. I never wanted to think that “I’ve arrived”, even if my business was successful. I never wanted to think that I could possibly know everything about photography, photoshop, lighting, etc. I wanted to be constantly learning, growing and becoming more knowledgeable in my work. I never wanted to take an ounce of this amazing career for granted. I loved my career when I started and am thrilled that I love and have even greater passion today than I did yesterday.

With that said, I also dreamed that one day my work would somehow get featured on Style Me Pretty. I knew it would be far fetched and would take time, but I was willing to work at it. (There have literally been days when I have sat and taken photographs of trees, flowers, fruit. You name it. By now, I’m pretty sure my neighbor’s all think I’m some sort of freak.) I’m excited and feel extremely blessed that today is the day where a wedding I photographed is featured on Style me Pretty. Katherine and Rodney’s wedding was one of the loveliest days I’ve captured this spring and the effort that went into their day was definitely noticed. I thank you Kate and Rodney for allowing me to do my most favorite thing on your most important day.

After years in the business, I’m thankful to say that I haven’t “arrived”, I don’t know everything photography related, I still have great passion for my work and I am more certain than ever that the Lord is the center of not only my life, but also my business. So, although I am extremely excited and honored that Style me Pretty published a wedding I shot, I find myself incredibly humbled. All of this is because of Him and I find it a great privilege that the blessings are far greater than I could have ever imagined. Happy Monday!

Lindsey & Mike: {Married} Naples Florida Wedding

“I don’t want to pursue guys, I just want to pursue the Lord,” Lindsey stated a little over a year ago. She was completely sold out to Christ’s will for her life, resting in Him, regardless of what he had planned for her. This led her on a missions trip to Haiti last summer. And this is where her life was forever changed, undoubtedly in more ways than one. Mike happened to be on this same missions trip, which led to a friendship and the two getting to know each other. A few months later they started dating and not long thereafter, Mike proposed to Lindsey.

I remember calling my sister right after my initial meeting with Mike and Lindsey and telling her that their relationship is so real, raw and just a deep, unexplainable love. Plain and simple, they are a perfect match for each other and the love they share is such a testimony to the plans the Lord has for us, once we surrender our own will for our life.

Mike and Linds, CONGRATS!!! It was an honor and blessing to play my role in capturing your day and your love. May your pursuit for the Lord still be the forefront in each of your lives, and I pray that your marriage is filled with willingness, great joy, grace, and unconditional love as you guys serve and glorify Christ.

The Best Bridal Show: Harborside, Fort Myers, Florida

It’s not called The Best Bridal Show for nothing! We had so much fun meeting and chatting with all of the awesome brides-(and grooms!) to-be in our area yesterday at Harborside Convention Center. I’m always so (yes, that would be in bold) nervous the day of the shows. So much to do, so much to pack up and remember and thankfully, the second the shows starts, all the nerves I had prior disappear and great excitement sets in. I totally mean this when I say that I absolutely love hearing about everyone’s plans for their wedding day. Honestly, it never bores me. Big thank you to the brides and grooms that stopped by our booth today. We hope you had as much fun as we did and I look forward to hearing from you!

Lastly, I just have to say, we were so thankful for such wonderful feedback and the sweetest of compliments. I don’t know if people understand how much it means to photographer’s, when they express with such sincerity, the love they have for our work. I can almost guarantee this goes for every photographer out there. If you want to make a photographers’ day, I promise all you have to do is let them know how much you love what they do. 🙂 Better yet, make it a goal this week to compliment one person each day, because that one little sentence will surely go a long way. Make it a great week and don’t forget to give those compliments!

WeWed IV

Now, I love weddings. Like, really really love them. They never bore me, I love the people I work for and with, I’m always excited when I have a wedding and I never, ever dread going to work. Now, times these original feelings by about a hundred and that’s how I feel today. Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending WeWed IV, a fantastic workshop, hosted by the wonderful and brilliant Kelly McWilliams of Weddings by Socialites.  It was so informative, refreshing, inspiring and educational that my head was still literally spinning at midnight, in a good way, of course. I almost thought about taking Nyquil, just to put me to sleep. For real. It was that good.

Going to workshops like WeWed really makes you want to push harder, give even more effort than you are now and truly takes your passion for your product to a whole new level.  As people, as business owners and as professionals, the last thing we want to do is settle for mediocre or ever believe that we’ve “made it”.  This business is a journey, not a destination and for that reason, we need to consistently challenge ourselves to become better.

Also, because they always do such a great job, WeWedIV was held at The Resort in Marina Village in Cape Coral, Florida, with lunch being served downstairs at Marker 92 (as always, LOVE their food). I highly recommend checking this resort out whether you’re a bride, a vacationer or even a local just looking for something different to do in the area. It’s pretty great and you’ll thank me later.

Lastly, if you’re in the wedding industry in Southwest Florida, or really anywhere, I highly recommend going to WeWed V. It will change the way you think, the way you do things and will only help your business and product. Not only that, but you will get to meet and or see many other colleagues in the area, and honestly, we have some of the best. Since I was the official photographer of the event, I was able to capture some of the day for the world to see. Thanks Kelly for a great event as well as the fantastic prizes- I am so excited about the Martha Stewart magazines as well as the year subscription to Entrepreneur magazine!

Dominic & Jenny: The Quarry, Naples, Florida

There are some people in this world who seriously don’t have a bad or mean bone in them. You know, those type of people who are beyond caring, sweet, generous, kind, loving and every other similar adjective. This is Jenny. She isn’t perfect, and will be the first to admit it. However, she won’t admit this, so I will- she is BEYOND amazing. Jenny is pretty much the sweetest, strongest, most kind and grateful person you’ll come in contact with and anyone who knows her would say the same. She truly is as beautiful on the inside as she is stunning on the inside. Oh, and Dominic you’re not half bad yourself. 🙂

In November I had the absolute pleasure of shooting Dominic and Jenny’s wedding at The Quarry in Naples, Florida. Everything was gorgeous and one of my favorite weddings yet. The lighting was perfect, The Quarry was beautiful and of course, the couple was amazing. Dominic and Jenny, thanks so much for changing your original wedding date so I could shoot your wedding. It was such a blessing to be able to capture your day, your love and the beginning of your story together as one. I wish you two a wonderful life together filled with many years of great love and pure joy!

Happy New Year!

I feel like I could easily post everyday this week about how great 2010 was and my goals and resolutions in 2011, and I just may, but I just wanted to post a few pictures from my New Year’s Day wedding. The bride, Kaci, is the sister of a bride I shot in December 2009, and I was so excited to meet up with this gorgeous family again. The ceremony was at the First Baptist Church in Labelle, Florida. It’s probably my favorite church to shoot in for so many reasons…the brick building with steeple poking out the top, the back balcony so I can capture moments from above, and the light coming into the church. It’s all just perfect. Speaking of perfect, congratulations Blake and Kaci. Everything was fantastic and I just had so much fun capturing your most special day!

Brittany & Ryan: Marina Jack, Sarasota, Florida

Being that Brittany and Ryan live in Sarasota and I in Fort Myers, we decided to meet halfway for our initial meeting, which ended up being at Starbucks in North Port. Brittany, as cute as can be, had her big binder filled with all stuff wedding. We hit if off instantly and sat there chatting about how they met, how they got engaged, their careers as teachers and obviously the day they had looked forward to for all their lives. From the location, to her colors of choice ( navy+pink=LOVE. ) from the bridal party to their expectations of the day, we talked about what would play out October 9th, 2010. The more we talked, the more I fell in love with this couple. They were simple, adorable, so in love with each other and just downright funny. I’ll never forget one of the last things Brittany said to me as we were closing things up from our first meeting. She said, “So, do you want to shoot our wedding?”, as if they had to sell themselves and their wedding day to me. Absolutely, Britt, absolutely. My life is fuller knowing amazing people like you and Ryan.

Congratulations R&B!! I hope your wedding day was nothing short of fabulous and I wish you guys a wonderful marriage filled with joy, happiness and love.

Gary & Ashley: A Backyard Wedding For the Books.

I cannot even tell you how many times I said “I love this wedding” throughout the day. Down here in Florida, we don’t  see very many backyard weddings and every time I get to shoot one, I always get so excited.  Gary and Ashley planned this adorable, bird-inspired wedding at Gary’s grandfather’s house on an amazing waterfront piece of land in Alva, Florida. Gorgeous. Mixing this with some BBQ catering, dancing and a handful of games for the guests to play, such as musical chairs, it was definitely a backyard wedding for the books.

Pretty much adorable.

Ashley, wearing purple Converse sneakers to match her ladies. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE…….and LOVE.

I heart this. A lot. Here is the dress up and pose station, where their guests got all fancied up, wrote Gary & Ashley a message and posed for the most hilarious pictures.

Congrats Gary and Ashley!!! I hope your lifetime together is always filled with as much fun, laughter and happiness and the two of you shared on your wedding day.

Luis and Katie: Plantation Country Club, Fort Myers, Florida

I remember meeting with Katie and Luis shortly after their engagement and being so surprised with the amount of details and planning they had done in such little time. We talked about colors, ideas, vintage approaches, their engagement, her ring, and their relationship. Their excitement, joy and happiness was so evident to those around them. They were absolutely crazy about one another and so thrilled about marrying each other.

I have known Katie for a few years now, before her and Luis even started dating. Being that Katie lived with one of my closest friends and is also good friends with my sister, I would excitedly ask how the two of them were doing. They were an adorable couple and I was so happy for Katie. However, after months of dating, and to the great surprise of all, Katie and Luis broke up. Obviously, not a fun time for anyone, but at the same time a great time of refining and reliance by and on Him. I remember talking to her about it on a car ride to the movies one night in February 2009. Was she sad? Yes. But, was she broken? No. She had such great hope that if it was what God truly wanted, it would happen. Her unfailing hope and joy never ceased as she truly remained confident in His plan for her life. In July 2009, her hopes came true as Luis came to his senses asked to start pursuing Katie again. Within a matter of months he asked her to marry him in a shocking, yet oh so exciting proposal.

This Sunday their dreams came true and they made their commitment to spend the rest of their lives together as they said I do at Plantation Country Club in Fort Myers, Florida. It was a beautiful day with a vintage, bird theme approach and the details were absolutely stunning and apparent every which way you looked. More importantly, their radiant love filled the room. I’ll never forget the blessing of Katie, her dad’s emotional speech, the hand written vows, Katie’s gorgeous Maggie Soterro wedding gown, the fabulously decorated reception, talking with Luis before your first look, the moment you two first saw each other, your ceremony, your awesome bridal party, the crazy dance party, and lastly, the smiles written all over your faces. I pray those same smiles, laughs and ultimately your love, continue throughout your years together.

Luis and Katie, you two are so special and I feel honored and blessed I got to be a part of your day and your story. It is a day I’ll truly never forget. Your story is special and speaks volumes about who you both are as people, as believers and as a couple. Congratulations!!

..and one of my L&K faves. Stunning.

Omar & Jenna

January 16, 2010
Fort Myers Beach, FL

I met Omar and Jenna last summer and one thing I walked away with after our initial consultation was the amazing love they shared between each other. I remember their hands constantly being locked, their secret little smiles and the way they looked at each other was a language all in itself. I also remember thinking this couple is for sure in the “honeymoon” state of a relationship, ya know, where you’re so wrapped up in the other person that you hardly notice the rest of the world around you. Later that night, I came to find out they had been dating for almost S E V E N years. I’m pretty sure after I heard this, my smile grew tenfold.

Jenna, you were a FABULOUS bride and you just rock the camera like it’s nobody’s business. Omar didn’t have to do a thing standing next to you because you knew exactly what to do and I loved it! Your day was so pretty and how lucky were we to end up with the most gorgeous weather!! Thanks for being so great, thanks for sharing your love and thanks for being so real. I know it seems so redundant, but it’s because of couples like you that make my job so much fun. I am beyond grateful.  Omar and Jenna, I hope your honeymoon is amazing and I hope the love you two share stays as strong and radiant as it is today.

Okay, here’s my favorites from the day. I wasn’t kidding when I said Jenna could WORK IT!

Saving the best for last…I love these!!!

I hate, despise, detest, loathe, dislike (get the idea?) change. I like everything to always stay the same, from my daily routine, to the furniture in my house, from the age of my kids to my relationship and friendships. So, to say the least I’m pretty predictable, and quite frankly, I’m totally okay with that. However, with photography, it’s a totally different story. I must say one of my favorite things about photography are it’s ever-changing methods, styles, ideas and trends.  There’s always room for learning and growth, which in turn, usually stems from change. Obviously, the way I shoot a wedding now is different that the first time I did it and I find great joy in comparing my growth from then to now. It’s amazing what practice, time, dedication, determination, reading and more practicing can do. One of these days, I will post the first wedding I did, and although it really isn’t as bad as I think, I love critiquing my work. One of the main reasons for the change though is my confidence in leading and taking charge when working with the bride and groom. Usually if I am confident in a particular pose, I can easily give them instant confidence in front of the camera, in turn, giving me a well produced image. With that’s a few Tuesday Tips for anyone in front of the lens.

* Make sure you pick a photographer you match with. A photographer could have the greatest work, but if you don’t love being around them or find them fun and enjoyable, it can really create for a difficult day. You’re spending all day with this person, make sure you can connect and be around them for hours.

* Don’t be afraid to laugh- unless I tell you not to. There’s something so sweet about seeing someone laugh compared to a simple smile. (Say that 5 times fast!) Truly, when editing a wedding, the pictures with the bride laughing are truly worth (oh, I am going there.) a thousand words.

* Be confident. You’re beautiful and girl, on your wedding day, flaunt every bit of it. Your confidence will be visible in the pictures.

* Don’t stand even with the camera. Don’t be afraid to put a foot forward and throw your hand up on your hip. I love a little bit of attitude and most importantly, it creates for a more dramatic photograph.

* Practice smiling in front of the mirror. Cheesy, yes, but it works! Find your best smile!! 🙂

* Don’t be afraid to ignore me and the camera because I love when you do. Some of the greatest pictures during a bride/groom session are those that are unplanned and natural.

* RELAX and HAVE FUN! Seriously, the more comfortable and relaxed, the better the picture.

Happy Tuesday! I leave you with one of my favorites from ’09.

Rod and Jackie

October 24, 2009- Heritage Bay Golf and Country Club

I know it’s been a few months now, but there is no way I could just not blog about this couple and their fabulous wedding. First off, I had never met Jackie until the morning of her wedding, as she is from Seattle and came all the way to the other side of the country to get married. I think we only talked on the phone once before her big day to make sure we were both on the same page and to make sure we were a “match”. Having a photographer-bride match is extremely important because what bride really wants to spend all day, of the biggest, most anticipated days of their lives with someone they can’t be comfortable and get along well with??  I’m sure pretty much no one. 😉 Anyway, let me just say meeting Jackie was like reuniting with my old friend. She was just so gracious, sweet, kind, generous, loving, caring and the adjectives could go on and on. She was FABULOUS, inside and out. It was funny because my assistant (thanks, sister!) and I actually got to the getting ready location before she did, as she was getting her hair done. When we saw her dress hanging up, we instantly knew Jackie was gorgeous. Her dress was so simple and just a dress not everyone could pull off..and boy, did she ever pull it off!

I had such a great time shooting Rod and Jackie’s wedding and there are so many days I cant even believe I am lucky enough to have the job I do. Seriously. Thank you soooo much R&J, from the bottom of my heart. You two are so special and I wish you a lifetime of happy, love, joy, and laughter (Jackie has a KILLER smile and laugh!!).

Little Moments and a Coffee Cup of Happiness

As a wedding photographer, some of my most favorite moments to capture and look at are those quick, little, happenings that occur continuously throughout every couples special day. You know, those moments you wouldn’t even remember without a photograph as a reminder; whether it’s a bout of laughter, a falling tear, a warm embrace or even a sisterly pinch on the booty. 🙂 To me, they’re all special and all these little moments combined together throughout the day really build the character and feelings in a group of pictures. Just one of the reasons I absolutely love my job!!

I can’t even tell you how A M A Z I N G it feels to to be back in our normal routine this week! I feel like a brand new person, and maybe I am because..drumroll, please…I am now officially a coffee drinker, and it’s pretty much changed my life. My fabulous sister got me a coffee maker for Christmas (all all the thing that come with..) and I am in LOVE. However, more on that later. 🙂

No post is complete without a picture, so here’s just a few of “those” moments from the most recent weddings. Enjoy them and most importantly, enjoy your day!!

Brad and Kimber

December 19, 2009
First Baptist Church, Labelle, Florida
Private Home

Pure joy and excitement filled the little brick church before Brad and Kimber said their “I do’s”. Kimber looked absolutely radiant, in the most beautiful lace gown, and Brad stood patiently at the altar waiting to see his gorgeous bride up close for the first time. The smiles on each of their faces, when they first saw each other, was a clear reflection of their love and as a wedding photographer, I just ove seeing couples in love. The outdoor reception took place at a gorgeous home on the river, as the moon set in for the night . There were chandiliers hanging from the trees, people dancing on the deck below, and white Christmas lights everywhere completing their winter themed wedding.

Brad and Kimber, it was such a honor to shoot your wedding day. I wish you both a lifetime of love, joy, happiness and grace as you spend the rest of your lives together. It’s because of couples like you that I just love my job!!! God Bless you both in your journey as one.
